The Dubliners Baseball and Softball Club in Brest, in the far north-west of Brittany, France is organising the first-ever "Phare Ouest" international indoor mixed fastpitch tournament, to be played on the weekend of January 12-13, 2013 -- and British teams are invited.

Eight places are available on a first-come, first-served basis, the entry fee will be 50 euros, and the tournament will be played on two fields in a gymnasium in the middle of Brest.  The gymnasium has a bar, there will be a dinner on Saturday night (at 13 euros per head), and local hotels will offer discount rates to teams.

There is a rumour that Laury Thilleman, last year's Miss France, who comes from Brest, will put in an appearance.

Teams will consist of nine players with a minimum of three women, and the pitcher-catcher battery can either be all female or mixed, but not all-male.  An initial round-robin in two groups of four teams will be followed by semi-finals and a final plus placing games.

The deadline for registration and payment will be December 15, 2012.
