The Leeds Terriers defeated the Nottingham Brewers by a single run in the final to win the Champions Cup at the 2013 East Midlands Labor Day Tournament, held at the University of Leicester Playing Fields in Oadby on 14-15 September.
The win gave the Terriers their third Labor Day Tournament trophy in four tries.
Twenty-four teams competed in Comp and Rec divisions at the tournament, hosted by the Leicester Royals, on a weekend that saw sun, clouds and then a torrential downpour that interrupted the final, and fought for the Cup, Plate, Ashes and Spoon trophies.

Tournament organiser Kayleigh Green wrote:
“This was the best Labor Day Tournament yet! Everyone played nine or 10 games, so it was a packed schedule, but everything ran really well.
“This event has tripled in size since moving to Leicester four years ago, and entries this year came from Leicester, Nottingham, Bristol, Leeds, Birmingham and Maidenhead. The majority of teams stayed in university accommodation, coming together for a party Saturday night at the university's Stamford Hall.
“We also took the opportunity to do some fundraising. Leanne, a work colleague of mine, shaved her head to raise money for a friend diagnosed with cancer, and her hair was donated to the Little Princess Trust to help make wigs for children with the illness.”
