The GB Slowpitch Team is inviting B-grade and C-grade teams to get the 2017 season off to a fun and exciting start by entering the 2017 GB Slowpitch Open, scheduled for Sunday 9 April on the BSUK diamonds at Farnham Park.
The event is run annually by GB Slowpitch Team squad players and this year will be used to raise money to help the team travel to the European Slowpitch Championship in Bulgaria in July and the World Slowpitch Cup in Florida in November.
Only 12 places are available, so teams need to get their entries in early. The first four teams to register and pay (the cost is £150 per team) will receive a free "buyback". Buybacks, available in ll games, are just one of the unique features of the tournament.
C-grade teams will receive a handicap when playing B-grade teams.
Features​
As in previous years at the GB Slowpitch Open, there will be a minimum of four games per team, prizes for winners and hands-on coaching from highly-qualified GB coaches, plus music, play-by-play commentary, a raffle and side-show competitions such as a home run derby and throwing and pitching competitions.
Hot food and drinks will be available throughout the day.
