Indoor softball sessions will be offered for the first time in Birmingham this winter and spring by the Birmingham Bobcats Softball Club.  Starting on 10 January, ten indoor sessions will be run at the Kingsbury School and Sports College in Erdington on Tuesday evenings from 7.00-8.00 pm through 13 March.

The game

Indoor softball is a fast and furious adaptation of slowpitch softball, with a few special rules added to cater for the compact nature of the indoor game.  It is a great way to learn to play softball for the first-time player and equally good for more experienced players looking to hone their skills ahead of the 2012 outdoor season.

In fact, the game is so good that Liam Carroll, BSUK's Regional Coach and Club Development Officer for London, even recommends indoor softball to baseball players, as the faster pace of the indoor game will be great preparation for the baseball season.

Indoor teams consist of a minimum of eight players and should be half men and half women.  If you are planning to come as part of a group, be sure to call ahead and let the Bobcats know.
