The Guernsey Softball Association (GSA) is celebrating the 80th anniversary of organised softball on the island in 2016, and one element of the celebrations will be to host a three-day Men’s Fastpitch Tournament in St Peter Port from 19-21 August.

Fastpitch was the main format in Guernsey for much of the past 80 years, and though slowpitch has overtaken fastpitch in recent times, the GSA is hoping to remember and revive past glories through this tournament, which will be advertised to teams from around Europe.

Sarah Bryce from the GSA said, “Tt will be special event for all those involved – be it the teams, coaches, volunteers or spectators.”

The GB Softball programme is planning to send a combined Men’s and Under-19 Team to the event.
