The best baseball and fastpitch softball that Britain has to offer will be on show at Farnham Park near Slough on the weekend of 24-25 May, and members of both the baseball and softball communities are invited to come down and watch.

On the baseball diamond, the third edition of the 2014 GB All-Star Series will be played on Saturday and Sunday, while the fourth meeting of teams in this year's exciting Great Britain Fastpitch League will be played out on the two softball diamonds on Saturday.

Both the baseball and fastpitch games will get under way around 10.00 am on Saturday.

Each event will feature food and merchandise stalls, and there will be a bouncy castle for kids, a free baseball clinic at noon on Saturday and Sunday and lots more fun on offer.

GB Fastpitch League

GBFL LogoThe Great Britain Fastpitch League (GBFL) has played so far on 26 April, 3 May and 17 May, with two more weekends to go: 24 and 31 May.

The league has women's teams, men's teams and mixed teams, including teams made up wholly or largely of Senior, Junior and Cadette GB players, so the quality of play is high.

So far, this year's GBFL, with four teams in Division 1 and four in Division 2, has featured good pitching, exciting games and great spirit – well worth watching.

GB All-Star Series

GBASS LogoThe GB All-Star series, a new concept created by the BBF this year, features two GB national baseball teams – the GB Lions and the GB Juniors – playing against Southern and Northern All-Star teams and each other over the course of the weekend.

The idea is to give more high-level competitive experience to UK-based GB players, and both series held so far – on 19-20 April and 3-4 May – have produced exciting baseball of the highest quality.  And this is hardly surprising, since a majority of the top players in the country take part.

After this weekend, there will be a gap until the final series of GB All-Star Series games on the weekend of 5-6 July.
