GB Women's Fastpitch Team Head Coach Hayley Scott has announced the players who have been selected to compete for Great Britain at the 14th ISF Women's World Championships to be held in Haarlem in the Netherlands from 15-24 August.

The team will assemble in the Netherlands on 7 August and will hold a week-long training camp, using the facilities of the Dutch league team Centrals in Utrecht, where GB catcher Steph Pearce will be playing during the season.

The GB Team hopes to play friendly matches during that week against Dutch league teams and other World Championship teams in the run-up to the start of the tournament.  GB's first World Championship game, at 2.00 pm on Friday 15 August, will be against Botswana.

This is the first time the Women's World Championship will have been played in Europe, and this could be a one and only chance to see the greatest players in world softball, including the exciting World and Olympic champion Japanese and the always-powerful Americans, Canadians and Australians – all playing just across the English Channel!

Players

Great Britain will come into the tournament seeded #11, based on results at the 2012 World Championships in Whitehorse, Canada.  It will be the team's fourth consecutive appearance at the World Championships, three of them with Hayley Scott as Head Coach.

Newcomers to the squad this year are Under-19 player Chloe Wigington and a graduate of last year's GB Under-19 Team, Tahli Moore, who is currently playing college softball in the United States.
