GB Under-19 Women's Team Head Coach Rachael Watkeys and her staff have selected 13 players who will travel to Rosmalen in the Netherlands this summer for the European Junior Championships.

The tournament will be held from 21-26 July at the home of the Dutch Softball Club Gryphons, near S'Hertogenbosch in Southern Holland.

Looking for a medal

The GB Under-19 Women came sixth at the last European Junior Championships in 2012, their highest-ever finish.  Last year, the team competed for the first time in ISF Junior World Championships in Canada, finishing a very creditable ninth, just outside the playoff positions.

This summer, the team will be looking for its first-ever European medal.

Selections

Following final trials at the Regional Academy Softball session in London on 8 March, Rachael Watkeys and Assistant Coach Liz Knight have selected 13 players, but more are likely to be added.  The players chosen so far are:

Emma Bridge
Georgina Corrick
Hayley D'Avilar
Lauren Evans
Lucy Hall
Amie Hutchison
Kirsten Mack
Gabriella Sassoli
Imogen Thomas
Amy Trask
Keeli Waugh
Chloe Wigington
Sian Wigington

Seven of the 13 players were in the team that played in last summer's Junior World Championships in Canada, and three players were in last year's GB Under-16 Team that played in European Cadette Championships.
