The GB Management Committee (GBMC), which oversees GB National Team programmes and fastpitch development on behalf of the BSF, is looking for a Treasurer to run its bank accounts and a person to coordinate merchandise sales.

Treasurer

There is no need for the GBMC Treasurer to be a qualified accountant, but familiarity with spreadsheets and attention to detail are the key elements of the job spec.

The GBMC currently maintains two bank accounts – one for its own funds and one to handle income and expenditure for five GB national teams: the GB Women, GB Under-19 Women, GB Under-19 Men, GB Under-16 Girls and GB Under-13 Girls.

The Treasurer's main roles are to keep track of all transactions for these two accounts, and to be able to respond quickly to payment requests from national team managers for expenditure related to overseas travel to ESF or ISF competitions.

Merchandise Coordinator

Over the past two years, in partnership with Aswani Sports, the GBMC has built up a growing and successful merchandise operation, selling GB-branded clothing and other items at tournaments and events around the UK and in some cases creating original-design T-shirts for specific events.  This has brought in much-needed income to help fastpitch and slowpitch national team programmes with equipment purchases, training costs and bursaries for players who would not otherwise be able to accept their selection for international competition.

The GBMC needs someone to coordinate its merchandise operation, liaising with Aswani Sports over orders and stock, and organising selling points at key events such as Diamond Series tournaments, National Championships, the Softball World Series, the BSF AGM etc.

Point of contact

Anyone interested in either the Treasurer or merchandising role should email BSF National Teams Officer Beth Perkins (beth.perkins@britishsoftball.org) at your earliest opportunity, providing background information on your suitability for the job you are offering to do.

Both roles will report to the GB Management Committee and will be invited to join the Committee as a full member, though this is optional.

Both of these jobs are crucial for the continuing success of GB Softball teams, and the GBMC hopes that there are people in the softball community who will be willing to help.
