GB Slowpitch Team Head Coach Steve Patterson has announced the addition of twelve new players to the team's Development Squad.  These players, along with eight players retained from 2012, will be able to fight for places in the group that will travel to the ISF Slowpitch World Cup in Florida in January.

The new players were added following trials at the end of September.  Further players may be added to the Development Squad at a later stage, as some existing squad members were unable to attend the trials and the coaching staff want to assess a small number of trialists again at a winter training session.

Slowpitch World Cup

The ISF Slowpitch World Cup, the first to be held since 2005, will be played at the ISF Headquarters complex in Plant City, Florida from 23-26 January 2014.

The list of countries that are entering teams has still to be finalised, but it looks like GB will be competing against teams from the United States, Canada, Curacao, Slovenia, the Turks & Caicos Islands, France and Bulgaria, and others may join the list.

The GB squad that will compete in Florida is expected to be announced shortly.  The team held a training session on 9 November in Twickenham, and is planning another training session for December.
