The European Softball Federation is planning an ESF Slowpitch Umpire Clinic to be held in Britain from 7-11 May 2014.  Umpires from all over Europe can attend, and the course will go ahead if a minimum of 10 candidates register.

BASU umpires are expected to take up a number of places on the course.

The course registration fee is 75 euros, and umpires will also need to cover travel and accommodation costs.

Classroom and field sessions will be held at Richings Park Sports Club from Wednesday evening 7 May through Friday 9 May.  The trainee umpires will then officiate and be assessed at the first of a three-tournament series to be run next season at Farnham Park.

Although British umpires are still well represented at ESF slowpitch competitions, the ESF has been working hard to built up the number of slowpitch-qualified umpires around Europe, and this course will be part of that process.
