The British Softball Federation has announced that as of 1 May, the first-ever custom-made BSF softball, branded with the BSF logo, are now available in the UK in both 12” and 11” versions.

BSF General Officer Mark Munnery, who has supervised the project as a member of the tripartitle BBF/BSF/BSUK Commercial Committee, said: “In the coming weeks, when you do finally get to practice and play with the new ball, take a pause and reflect on its maiden journey, because it has taken 120 days to reach you!”

Made in China

The 2015 BSF-branded Baden softballs have been manufactured in China and are suited for a high standard of play. The balls are ASA-approved model, .52 COR and 300 compression, and have a leather cover with a polycore centre and are stamped with their own production code for quality control purposes.

From the factory in China, the balls were shipped to the Baden Warehouse in America and four weeks later cleared customs in the UK.

Feedback

The balls will provide excellent quality and durability at a very competitive price, and the BSF hopes that a majority of leagues and teams will use them.

The balls can be purchased from The Softball Shop.

This is the start of a three-year relationship between the BSF and The Softball Shop over the provision of softballs, and the BSF will welcome any feedback you may have on the performance of the ball over the summer season.

Please send feedback to Mark Munnery (mark.munnery@britishsoftball.org).
