Due to circumstances beyond
BSUK's control, the Dome at Milton Keynes will not be available for Academy Softball sessions on Saturday, 8 December or GB Softball Training on Sunday, 9 December .
The owners of the Dome have chosen that weekend to begin refurbishments, including repairs to the astroturf carpet. This is expected to be a short-term issue, with the work completed in time for the next National Academy and GB training dates on February 9 and 10, 2013.
Here is the information on alternative arrangements:
Northern Regional Academy
As far as Academy Softball is concerned, December 8 will now become a Regional Academy date and the plan is to change one of the Regional Academy dates in the spring to a National Academy date, though this has still to be finalised with the Dome.
So the Northern Regional Academy session on 8 December will be held at the following location:
Arnold Hill Academy
Gedling Road
Nottingham NG5 6NZ
The session will probably be from 1.00-3.00 pm, but this has still to be confirmed. People can contact Softball Administrator Paul Cooper for more information.
The venue is indoors, but is similar to the MK Dome in being cold but dry and spacious. Players should be prepared and bring warm gear if the outside temperature is low.
Southern Regional Academy and GB Training
In the South, the Southern Regional Academy
session will be combined with a national GB Training session on Saturday, 8 December. The Regional Academy will be held from 12.00-3.00 pm and GB National Team training from 3.00-6.00 pm. Final confirmation will be announced shortly, but the venue is likely to be:
