Chalfont Softball Club is inviting entries to a brand new indoor competition, the Jingle Balls Tournament, to be played in the run-up to Christmas on Sunday 15 December in Rickmansworth. The entry fee will be £110 per team.
Facilities
Space is available for eight teams, and the tournament will be played on two side-by-side indoor courts at the Princess Marina Sports Centre at the Royal Masonic School in Rickmansworth (WD3 4HF). The sports centre is a five-minute walk from the Rickmansworth Metropolitan Line station (ideal for teams from London) and a five minute drive from Junction 18 on the M25 for teams coming from elsewhere.
Spectators at the facility will be provided with excellent views from elevated galleries around three sides of the sports hall, and there will be a kitchen serving hot food and drinks.
Features
Tournament features will include:
- A guarantee of at least six games and a possible eight games.
- Games to be played in 30-minute slots (two innings of six minutes each).
- Teams to have a minimum of eight players, with the difference between the number of male and females to be no greater than two.
- A Christmas theme to be confirmed nearer the tournament.
- Hot and cold food available with a fully-licensed bar.
- Each team will be required to provide an umpire and scorer for two games.
