    Keynote speaker announced for Coach Summit

    Mark Smith, who is the High Performance Director and Women’s National Team Head Coach for Softball Canada, will be the keynote speaker for fastpitch softball at BSUK’s third annual Coach Summit, to be held on Saturday 27 January 2018 in Milton Keynes.

    Run the Bases launches pilot programme in Malta

    Run the Bases is a newly-formed sport development organisation that aims to tackle gender inequalities in sport through softball, and one of the key people behind it is former UCLA softball player Tara Henry, currently resident in the UK and providing occasional coaching support for BSUK’s Academy Softball.

    BSUK announces new safeguarding requirements

    In light of the many historic child abuse cases coming forward in football over hte past year, BSUK (which has delegated responsibility for safeguarding in our sports) has undertaken a thorough review of current proceedures and has instigated proposals to reduce the risk of a safeguarding issue damaging the reputation of our sports.

    GB Slowpitch looks for World Cup success

    A 14-strong GB Slowpitch Team will shortly be headed to the Randy L. Larson Softball Complex in Plant City, Florida to take part in the 2017 WBSC Co-ed Slowpitch World Cup, to be played from Thursday-Sunday, 16-19 November.

    Volunteers needed for 2018 World Series

    The BSF is looking for volunteers to help with the 2018 Softball World Series Tournament, including minibus drivers, people to help set up fields on the afternoon before the event and people to run Tournament Control.

    BSF asks for awards and Hall nominations

    The BSF is asking the softball community for nominations for its annual awards, for a series of coaching awards and for new inductees to the British Softball Hall of Fame, where inductions are made in even-numbered years.

    New leaders elected at WBSC Congress

    The World Baseball Softball Confederation (WBSC) held its biennial Congress from 12-14 October in Gabarone, Botswana.  New Executives were elected for the WBSC Baseball and Softball Divisions, and a new set of Statutes for the organisation was adopted.

    Nottingham Uni wins Autumn NUSC

    The University of Nottingham Arrows finally won the BSUK National University Softball Championship title on the weekend of 14-15 October at Farnham Park, courtesy of a 10-8 win in the final over the Portsmouth Shafters.
