An interesting turn of events at the European Slowpitch Championships

It's been a long time since the GB Slowpitch Team lost a game at the European Slowpitch Championships. You might have to go all the way back to 2006. But the spell was broken on Wednesday, July 20 when GB suffered a stunning loss to Slovenia, and it's the undefeated Slovenians who top the table after the second day's play.

The General Assembly of the Olympic Council of Asia (OCA) has set the scene for further baseball-softball discussions about a joint Olympic reinstatement bid by approving the inclusion of softball as a discipline of baseball for the 2014 Asian Games in Incheon, South Korea.

The European Softball Federation has announced that play-by-play updates from all ESF competitions this summer will be available online, as well as live broadcasts of the final games from the 2011 European Women's Championships in Italy, where the GB Women's Team hope they will be involved.

GB Women look sharp in their first scrimmage game in Oklahoma

The GB Women's Fastpitch Team has now been fully assembled in Oklahoma City to play in the 6th World Cup of Softball from July 21-25 against the top four teams in the world, and they played crisp, efficient softball in their opening scrimmage game.

GB Juniors lose final game to rain

The GB Junior (Under-19) Women's Fastpitch Team had one last consolation game to play on Saturday, July 16 at the Canadian Open Fastpitch Futures Gold Tournament, but a day of leaden skies and intermittent rain led to consolation round games being cancelled, so GB's tournament is over.

GB Junior Women drop out of the consolation round

It was another winnable game -- but in the end it was just another loss for the GB Junior Fastpitch Women's Team on Friday, July 15 at the Canadian Open Fastpitch Futures Gold Tournament, this time in the Consolation Playoff round. It means that GB can't win the consolation bracket, but the team will have one more game to play on Saturday.

Birmingham Bobcats venture out to the Netherlands

Ten members of the Birmingham Bobcats Softball Club -- also known as the TourCats -- embarked on an epic trip to the Netherlands on the weekend of July 8-10 for sightseeing, partying and a bit of softball against the Sittard Condors.
