2020 BaseballSoftballUK Coach Summit Returns to Milton Keynes

Mon 4 Nov 2019

BaseballSoftballUK today announced that the 2020 Coach Summit will be held on Saturday, 25 January 2020. After last year's highly successful Coach Summit, the 2020 summit will be returning to Milton Keynes, again hosted at the Kents Hill Park Training & Conference Centre.

The theme of this year's summit will be collaboration and maximising opportunities - to help take baseball and softball to the next level at both participation and talent levels. Following the successful staging of the MLB London Series and Olympic qualification campaigns in 2019, coaching will once again be at the forefront of our plans to grow and promote baseball and softball here in the UK.

Register before 15 November 2019 to receive special Early Bird pricing!

The summit will feature keynote speeches, workshops and seminars – with a focus towards baseball and fastpitch softball but will include content of interest for slowpitch coaches as well. The event will be attended by international coaches of great experience and credibility in their own fields and is a highlight of BaseballSoftballUK's Coach Education Programme. We will be announcing details of the specific workshops over the coming months.

BaseballSoftballUK is proud to announce that this year’s baseball keynote speaker will be Andre Lachance of Baseball Canada. Lachance has been with Baseball Canada since 2001 serving as Business and Sport Development Director and Head Coach of the Women’s National Team, and will be discussing new ways to develop baseball and softball. The keynote speaker for fastpitch softball will be announced in the coming days.

Several other events will be combined with the Coach Summit itself over the weekend of 25-26 January in Milton Keynes:

  • British Baseball & Softball Coach Awards 2020: The awards will again be staged in conjunction with the summit – taking place directly after the conclusion of the summit on Saturday evening. These awards recognise and celebrate the very best of baseball and softball coaching in the UK in the past 12 months. For more information, please visit the Awards page.
  • High Performance Academy & Academy sessions: On Sunday 26 January, the keynote speakers will lead and deliver hands-on coaching sessions in nearby sports halls in Milton Keynes to athletes from the baseball and softball Academy & High Performance Academy, as well as classroom sessions. They will be joined by coaches from the Academy & High Performance Academy.

The price for Coach Summit tickets will be the same as last year - £50 at an early bird rate, with rates rising to £80 after 15 November 2019. To register, please visit bsuk.co/2020CoachSummit.

There will also be group booking discount for students, licensed BSUK Coaches and for group bookings of four or more coaches from one club or league booking onto the summit at the same time. For more information, please contact Chris Rawlings at chris.rawlings@bsuk.com.

Watch for future announcements on this website and on BSUK social media, about speakers, themes and specific session topics over the next couple of months
