BSF requirements for Under-18s playing adult softball

After several months of consultation and refinement, the BSF Executive has now published minimum requirements that must be met in order for young people aged under 18 to play, coach or umpire in adult softball teams, whether slowpitch or fastpitch. A vote at the BSF AGM in February has made these requirements mandatory rather than voluntary guidelines.

East Midlands League votes for mandatory helmets

The East Midlands Softball League has become the first slowpitch league in the UK to vote that all players must wear helmets when batting or baserunning. This policy will come into effect for the 2013 season.

BSF supports Home Runs for Kids campaign

The US military-based BBK (BeBe's Kidz) Slowpitch Softball Club in Germany, which sends a team to our Softball World Series every year, has issued a European-wide challenge to softball teams to raise money for children's charities of their choice, and the BSF is putting its support behind the project.
