The second annual BASIC Tournament, run by the Belfast Aviators Softball Club in Northern Ireland, was held on Saturday, August 6 at Shorts Recreation Club in Belfast.

Castleknock Bearcats were back to try to retain their title from 2010, but the tournament is starting to attract more teams from outside Northern Ireland, with the Bearcats, 2Pak and Suspects making the journey up from Dublin.

Their opposition was three combined teams from the Ulster Softball League, namely Aviators/Jets, Sliders/Braves and Brawlers/Smokin Aces.

The event was supported by both RedBull, who supplied each team with a case of the product, and Jim Graves of Rockies Sports Bar, who is the sponsor of the Belfast Aviators and Jets teams.

Dublin v Belfast

The final pitted Dublin against Belfast when 2Pak took on the Brawlers/Smokin Aces -- and the Dublin team was the winner.

After the BASIC 2011 was over, the teams headed down to Rockies Sports Bar to party the night away.
