Following two late withdrawals from the GB Slowpitch Team that will shortly be heading to Bulgaria for the 2011 European Slowpitch Championships, replacement players have been named by Head Coach Jeremy Bedford.

Leading GB and European home run hitter Brett Gibbens has had to withdraw from the tour for personal reasons, and will be replaced by Danny Gunn.

Gelske Huyer, a new selection to the team this year, has had to withdraw because of passport issues, and will be replaced by Kirstie Leach.

Eight straight?

The GB Slowpitch Team will be attempting to win an eighth straight European Slowpitch Championship in Dupnitsa, where they will compete against the Czech Republic, Ireland, Slovenia, Bulgaria and Germany.

Guernsey, who finished fourth in last year's Europeans, recently withdrew from the competition when a number of players in their squad pulled out for financial reasons.

Bulgaria is entering the competition for the first time, and Germany is competing for the first time since 2002.
