In memory of Chris Stephens

Last Saturday, 17 September 2011, Chris Stephens, long-standing pitcher for Mojo and SPAM, died at the John Radcliffe hospital in Milton Keynes six weeks after his aorta had burst. He was 66 years old.

Fastpitch League plays out final games in Norfolk

The London Fastpitch Softball League (LFSL) played its final day of competition for 2011 in Fakenham, Norfolk on Saturday, September 17. Even though not all teams attended, winners were declared in the different divisions and the teams that will play in Europe next year were decided.

London Indoor Softball to start October 8

The Softball Nationals and World Series have come and gone, but the damp, cold autumn weekends needn't be a downer for London's softball fanatics. BSUK's London Indoor Softball will kick off again from Saturday, October 8.

Softball League Heads Forum to expand its scope this year

The British Softball Federation has scheduled the 2011 Softball League Heads Forum for Saturday, November 26 in Birmingham. The event will be expanded this year to include a workshop session on the National Softball League and consultation by BSUK on the 2013-2017 Whole Sport Plan.

Trainee Community Coach completes a successful six months in the North West

Baljit Ahluwalia was employed by BSUK from March to September this year via the Future Jobs Fund programme as a Community Baseball and Softball Coach, working mainly in Greater Manchester. The placement has now come to an end, but both Baljit and BSUK's North West Regional Development Manager Luis Arrevillagas can look back on a very successful project.

Americans dominate an outstanding World Series weekend

One of the best Softball World Series tournaments of recent years escaped the predicted bad weather at the BA Concorde Club in West London on the weekend of September 10-11. And at a time when many people were remembering the events of 9/11, it was perhaps fitting that two American teams dominated the proceedings.

London Angels place sixth in European Women’s Cup

The London Angels Women's Fastpitch Team travelled to Dupnitsa, Bulgaria to compete in the European Women's B Pool Cup Tournament from August 15-20, and finished sixth out of ten teams.
