Letter to the IOC from the ISF and IBAF

International Softball Federation President Don Porter and International Baseball Federation President Riccardo Fraccari have written a joint letter to Jacques Rogge, President of the International Olympic Committee, to confirm that the two sports are complying with IOC conditions for potential reinstatement to the Olympic programme.

BSF League Heads Forum to be held in January

The BSF's annual League Heads Forum, where slowpitch League Heads meet with members of the BSF Executive to discuss current softball issues and ideas, is normally held in November. But the 2012 League Heads Forum has now been scheduled for Saturday, January 19 in Birmingham.

Manchester celebrates 20th softball season

More than 200 people turned out for a Black Tie Ball at the Manchester Hilton Deansgate Hotel on Saturday evening, 27 October to celebrate the 20th season of organised softball in Manchester.

Farnham Park facilities near completion

The new dedicated baseball and softball diamonds being built by BSUK at Farnham Park near Slough are nearing completion. Grass has been seeded, and how well it grows and beds in over the winter will determine when in 2013 the fields can be used.

ISF Congress approves ISF merger with IBAF

A Special Congress held by the International Softball Federation (ISF) on October 30 in Houston, Texas has voted with 71% in favour to combine with the International Baseball Federation (IBAF) to establish a new International Federation for softball and baseball, to be called the International Confederation of Softball and Baseball (ICSB).

Birmingham hosts first international event

Following a successful trip to Cologne earlier this year by the Tourcats, a travelling team from the Birmingham Bobcats Softball Club, the Bobcats invited the Aachen Aixplosives, a mixed fastpitch team from Germany, to the UK for a one-day international slowpitch tournament on September 29, part of an effort to form an association of recreational slowpitch teams in Europe that want to compete across international boundaries.

Leeds indoor season begins 5 November

The Leeds Softball Association and the Dynamite Softball Club will be running an indoor softball season in Leeds, starting on Monday, 5 November, with two sessions every week.

SJA Badgers crowned London Charity League champions
29 October 2012
The final of the 2012 London Charity Softball League playoffs was played recently in Hyde Park, and the St John's Ambulance Badgers came from behind in the final inning to edge out the National Deaf Children's Society by a score of 8-7 and were duly crowned as LCSL Cup Champions.
