SJA Badgers crowned London Charity League champions

The final of the 2012 London Charity Softball League playoffs was played recently in Hyde Park, and the St John's Ambulance Badgers came from behind in the final inning to edge out the National Deaf Children's Society by a score of 8-7 and were duly crowned as LCSL Cup Champions.

Chromies' home runs win the Premier Nationals This was supposed to be the year that H2O finally won the BSF's Premier National Championship, played on the weekend of September 1-2 at Parrs Wood School in Manchester. Nine teams to contest 2012 Premier Nationals

Weather and anticipated pitch construction at Farnham Park meant that the National Softball League season was almost non-existent in 2012. Nevertheless, nine of the 10 teams that signed up for the NSL this year, and played each other once at the British Airways Tournament in June, will contest the BSF's Premier Nationals on the weekend of September 1-2 at Parr's Wood High School in Manchester.

Four national championships settled at Wokingham

The British Softball Federation crowned its Platinum, Gold, Silver and Bronze National Champions for 2012 on a warm and sunny weekend, August 11-12, at Cantley Park outside Wokingham. Nineteen teams took part, two less than a year ago. Two of the finals were relatively close, but two were blow-outs that the teams on the receiving end will want to forget.

League All-Star Nationals look on for September

Five leagues are planning to send a total of eight teams to the BSF's League All-Star Nationals, to be played on September 1-2 in Manchester in conjunction with the Premier Nationals.

GB Women lose 3-2 in Canadian Open Final

An injury-hit GB Women's Team came up one run short in the Elite Division Final at the Canadian Open Fastpitch Championships, going down 3-2 in a strange game to the California A's.

BSF League All-Star Nationals postponed from July to September

The BSF has announced that the League All-Star National Championships, scheduled for July 7-8 at Loughborough, have been cancelled due to lack of entries. But the BSF is hoping to run the tournament alongside the Premier Nationals in Manchester on September 1-2.

Sheriffs earn Silver Nationals place in East Midlands playoff

On Sunday, May 20, the East Midlands Softball League Division 1 Playoff Game, oft-postponed by bad weather, pitted the Sheriffs against the Tigers to determine who would represent the EMSL at the BSF Silver Nationals on August 11-12 in Wokingham.
