Staff vacancies

Staff for all of these teams will generally consist of a Head Coach, a Team Manager, various Assistant Coaches (including a pitching coach or other specialist coaches) and a Physiotherapist or other medical or sports science personnel.

From time to time, vacancies arise for GB Team staff members, and these vacancies will be listed on this page, so it will be worth returning to the page from time to time.

Even if there are no relevant vacancies listed, we encourage people who are interested in GB Softball staff positions to make an application (a link to a Staff Application Form is below).   We will keep details on file should a suitable position become available.

Current vacancies

Current vacancies are:

  • GB Under-19 Men's Fastpitch Team -- Head Coach.  The GB Under-19 Men’s Fastpitch Team is looking for a new Head Coach following the resignation of Chris Yoxall for work-related reasons.  The team does not have an official European or World Championship competition in 2018, but the GB Under-19 Men will be playing as a team in the Great Britain Fastpitch League from late April through early June and hope to travel to invitational competitions in Europe as they prepare for the 2019 European Championship.

Here are some conditions and regulations regarding GB National Team staff:

  • Head Coaches and Team Managers are appointed by the GB Management Committee (GBMC) on behalf of the British Softball Federation.
  • All Head Coaches for GB National Teams who are based in the UK must have at least a BSUK Level 2 coaching qualification, or have plans to acquire this qualification in the year of appointment.
  • Assistant Coaches and medical/sports science staff are generally appointed by the Head Coach with the approval of the GBMC, but must submit an application to the GBMC before their appointment.
  • No GB National Team staff members are paid; all positions are voluntary.  However, costs for staff members are covered when a national team goes abroad for competition, and some expenses connected with training and competition in the UK can be claimed if necessary.
