Mixed slowpitch tournament in the Netherlands

Thu 7 Feb 2019

The Scorpions International Tournament for mixed slowpitch softball teams will be played from 18-21 July (Thursday through Sunday) on the fields of the Jeka Baseball and Softball Club in Breda, Southern Holland.

In this case, “mixed teams” means that there must be a minimum of two women on the field, and a maximum of five.

The venue includes excellent playing fields, a bar and BBQ and, according to the organisers, music will not be lacking.

Teams coming from abroad can book accommodation in villas holding 12-18 people at the resort “De Katjeskelder” in nearby Oosterhout.  The cost for a full week’s stay (for teams that want to sightsee before they play) is €190 per person, including transportation between the accommodation and the fields and transportation to and from airports at Schiphol Amsterdam or Zaventum Brussels.

The resort offers many extras such as a bowling alley, outdoor and indoor swimming pools, mini-golf, playgrounds, a restaurant and snack bar, a supermarket, laundry service and much more.  For more information go to: https://www.katjeskelder.nl/.

Registration for the tournament is open until 30 March, at which point a deposit of €100 per person will need to be paid.  The organisers will arrange for reservations at “De Katjeskelder”.
