IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT ABOUT EASTON SOFTBALL BATS

Sun 31 Jan 2016

The American Amateur Softball Association (ASA) has recently published the following announcement on its website:

"ASA/USA Softball, the National Governing Body for softball in the United States, in working with Easton Baseball/Softball Inc (Easton), announced today that Easton is voluntarily removing the following softball bat models from the ASA/USA list of certified bats:

SCN1
SCN11BH
SCN1B
SCN2B
SCN3
SCN4B
SCN5
SCN5B
SCN6B
SCN7
SCN7B
SCN8
SCN8B
SCN9
SCX14
SCX14B
SCX24B
SCX3

Organisations that currently use ASA’s bat performance standards such as the NCAA, NFHS, NAIA and NJCAA may restrict such bats from play in 2016 and beyond."

All of these bats have now turned up on the ASA's latest non-approved bats list, which can be downloaded here: http://usa.asasoftball.com/e/build_batlist_one_page.asp.

Since the British and European Softball Federations do not allow bats from this list to be used in competition, anyone thinking of buying one should probably think again.

BASU is in contact with the ASA and we will provide more information as soon as we can.

Does the link pull up the complete banned bats list? The text suggests it does but the list in the link is shorter than I expected! Ta
