Chichester Indoor Slowpitch League to start at the end of September

Sun 18 Sep 2016

The Chichester Falcons Softball Club has finished its outdoor activities for the year, but will get right back to action at the end of September when the Chichester Indoor Slowpitch Softball League gets under way.

Now in its second year, this informal league is for male and female players of any ability aged 14 and upwards who want to learn and improve their softball in the weather-proof environment of Chichester College Sports Hall.  Indoor softball is fast and frantic, and perfect for learning the fundamentals of the game, as the action is never more than 25 metres away.

Players will enrol for the league individually and will be rostered into four teams at the first of eight Friday night sessions.  Thanks to sponsors The Bell Inn in Chichester, every enrolled player will get a team shirt to wear and keep, equipment will be provided, and coaches will be present both to mentor new players and help experienced players tune up their game.

First session

The first session, on Friday 30 September, will be a training session to get the teams up to speed and used to the indoor ball and rules, with the league getting under way for real on Week 2.

There are also plans to spring a ‘Fastpitch Night’ on the group to give the players an insight into this growing and exciting variant of the game.

Anyone interested in enrolling for the Chichester Indoor League can visit to find out more.
