LondonSports offers fastpitch for girls 9-18

Registration is now open at LondonSports for all girls aged 9-18 in the London area – regardless of previous experience -- who want to get involved in fastpitch softball this year.

Fastpitch softball is a unique team sport, filled with camaraderie, and is an ideal sport for anyone who wants to try something new or for any girl who currently plays cricket, rounders, or slowpitch school softball. 

The youth softball programme at London Sports is the largest in the UK, and is part of LondonSports Baseball and Softball, which has more than 500 children participating across the two sports and is the largest programme of its kind in Europe.

Dates and times

Fastpitch softball for girls at LondonSports will run from 22 April through 11 June, and everyone interested is encouraged to sign up for the season. 

Play takes place next to the Linford Christie Stadium at Wormwood Scrubs, London W12 0DF, off Du Cane Road and Artillery Road. 

The programme includes three dedicated softball leagues, which play on the following days and times:

Developing Fastpitch: for Junior Girls ages 9-11
Saturdays and Bank Holiday Monday: 9:30-12:30, Sundays 11:30-2:30

Fastpitch Senior Girls: ages 12-14/15
Saturdays and Bank Holiday Monday: 12:30-15:30, Sundays 14:30-17:30

Under-18 Fastpitch: ages 13/14-18 (age 13 will based on assessment)
Sundays ONLY and first May Bank Holiday: 10:00/10:30-14:15 vs. external teams

Bursaries are available on application; LondonSports is dedicated to developing and helping all athletes in its programmes to improve.

Great Britain Under-13 Girls’ Fastpitch Team

Women’s fastpitch softball is the Olympic format of the sport, and will be featured in the next Olympic Games in Tokyo in 2020.

The Great Britain Under-13 Girls’ National Team programme, which works together with LondonSports, is looking for new players between the ages of 9 and 13.
