    BASU plans Advanced Slowpitch Umpire Course

    BASU is planning to run a one-day Advanced Course for qualified slowpitch umpires, probably at the beginning of May, to raise standards among experienced BASU umpires and better equip them for European qualification.

    The British Association of Softball Umpires (BASU) will be running eight two-day qualification courses and five one-day introductory courses between now and the end of April.

    BASU to propose standard rule for ending timed games

    The British Association of Softball Umpires (BASU) held its 2012 AGM on February 11 in Bristol, with 13 members attending.  One of the key decisions to come from the meeting was a proposal to standardise the ending of timed games in slowpitch tournaments, and this proposal will be put to the BSF AGM in Manchester on February 18.

    BASU (the British Association of Softball Umpires) will hold its AGM on Saturday, February 11 in Bristol, just a week before the BSF AGM.

    Don’t stop reading just because you’re a slowpitch player and/or umpire. There are lots of good reasons to train as a fastpitch umpire, and a BASU Fastpitch Qualification Course is coming up in February, with a registration form now available online.
