European Slowpitch League halfway through its first season

A new European Slowpitch Softball League (ESSL), the brainchild of Austrian slowpitch enthusiast Marc Stein, is now halfway through its first season of play. Six teams representing four countries are taking part, and finals will be held on 13-14 September in Linz, Austria.

ESF Slowpitch Men to take on the US and Canada

The European Softball Federation is hoping to put together a European Men's Slowpitch All-Star Team to compete against Team USA and Team Canada this summer in a new tri-nation tournament leading up to the annual Border Battle between the Americans and the Canadians.

Record entry for Single-Sex Nationals

The BSF has announced a record entry for its 2014 Single-Sex Slowpitch National Championships, to be held on the weekend of 12-13 July in Birmingham, with all available places expected to be filled.

Thunder crack NSL top four at Diamond 1

The first National Softball League games of the 2014 season were played at Diamond Series 1 at Farnham Park on the weekend of 10-11 May, and while most of the early leaders are as expected, the NSL's new team, Thunder, are sitting in the top four.

Knights take top title at Windsor First Ball

The outdoor season for Windsor and Maidenhead District Mixed Softball League was officially opened on Saturday 26 April with the annual Windsor First Ball tournament taking place at Farnham Park near Slough.

A new independent Single-Sex Slowpitch Tournament for recreational and competitive men's and women's teams will be held at Riverside Lands in Chiswick, London on Sunday 18 May, and entries are now being taken.

Schedule set for Women’s World Championship

The International Softball Federation has announced the round-robin groups and a provisional schedule for this summer's Women's Faspitch World Championships, to be played in Haarlem, in the Netherlands, from 15-24 August. The GB Women's Team will enter the tournament ranked at #11.

Second Chichester Tournament raises funds for charity

The second annual Chichester Softball Tournament, held at Chichester University on Saturday 19 April and hosted by Chichester Falcons Softball Club, featured six southern-based teams and raised over £700 for local charity Children on the Edge.

Greensox rebound to take Manchester Firstball title

The increasingly popular Manchester Firstball Tournament (26 teams entered this year from around the country) was played on the weekend of 12-13 September at Parrs Wood High School in Didbury, and titles were won by teams from Manchester, Nottingham and Leeds.

Women’s section in Lakenheath Slowpitch Tournament

The Lakenheath Single-Sex Slowpitch Invitational on 13-15 June at RAF Lakenheath in Suffolk will contain both women's and men's tournaments, and entries from British civilian teams are still invited for both events.
