Italy wins first Women’s Euros since 2007

On a day of gale-force wind and heavy rain, the final games of the European Women's Championship somehow managed to be played on Saturday 25 July in Rosmalen, Holland, and the main beneficiary was Italy, which won its first European title since 2007.

GB Women sign off by almost beating Holland

The GB Women's Fastpitch Team saved their best game of the European Women's Championships on Friday in Rosmalen, Holland for last. GB played the defending champion Netherlands on absolutely even terms and were unlucky to lose 2-0.

GB Women beat Austria but lose to Italy

The GB Women's Fastpitch Team edged out Austria 4-3 this morning to ensure that they can finish no lower than fifth at the European Women's Championships in Rosmalen, Holland. Unfortunately, this evening's 7-0 loss to Italy means that GB have no chance of finishing higher.

GB Women have a bad day at the Euros

The bad news is that the GB Women's Fastpitch Team lost two games, to the Czech Republic and Russia, at the European Women's Championships in Holland on Wednesday 22 July. The good news is – they're still through to the second playoff round.

Pioneers lead National Softball League table with one event to go

Four National Softball League tournaments have now been played in 2015, with only Diamond 3 still to come, and the Pioneers currently hold a two-game lead at the top of the table over the defending national champion Chromies.

GB Women win playoff thriller over Germany

Carling Hare pitched the most courageous game of her GB Softball career, and thanks to her clutch performance, the GB Women's Team held on for a nail-biting 2-1 win over Germany in the first game of the playoffs on Tuesday evening 21 July at the European Women's Championships in Rosmalen, Holland.

GB Women come back to earth against Italy

The GB Women's Fastpitch Team suffered a first loss at the European Women's Championships in Rosmalen, Holland on Monday 20 July when they came up against Italy's Greta Cecchetti, who gave up only one hit in an 8-0 Italian walk-off mercy rule victory in six innings.
