H2O, Chargers and Leeds Terriers take BA Tournament honours

The British Airways Tournament, which also doubled as a National Softball League event this year, was played on the weekend of June 16-17 in a mixture of sunshine and showers at the BA Concorde Club in Cranford, near Heathrow Airport. H2O, Chargers and the Leeds Terriers were winners in A, B and C-grades. .

Teams set for Men’s and Women’s Slowpitch Nationals

Entries are now set for the BSF Men's and Women's Slowpitch National Championships, to be played on the weekend of July 21-22 at Burleigh Community College in Loughborough. Fourteen men's teams and 12 women's teams will play in competitive and recreational divisions.

Mescalitos retain their GLSML Firstball title

Ten teams from the GLSML's top two divisions contested the GLSML Red Group Firstball, played on Saturday, May 14 at Riverside Lands in Chiswick. Admittedly, this report reached us from the GLSML some six weeks after the evening, but it's well worth reading. After a busy day of softball, it was Mescalitos who retained the title they won in 2011.

GB Women draw their final warm-up game

In their final warm-up game before play begins in earnest in the Elite Division at the Canadian Open Fastpitch Championships, the GB Women drew 1-1 in a fine game against a top California travel ball team filled with NCAA Division 1 college players.

H2O take an early lead in the National Softball League

The first National Softball League competition of the season took place on the weekend of June 16-17 at the British Airways Tournament, played at the BA Concorde Club near Heathrow Airport, and the early leaders in the NSL table are H2O.

Mid-week league softball returns to Birmingham

A new Birmingham Softball League will be launched on Thursday June 21. The league will be run for six weeks in an intra-club format, with support from BaseballSoftballUK, and the teams will be made up of new and existing members of the Birmingham Bobcats Softball Club.

Diamond Series 2 defies the weather again

Following torrential rain during the week leading up to Diamond Series 2 on June 9-10 at Farnham Park, the sun shone for the best part of both days, although the rain came back just in time for the finals.

BSF League All-Star Nationals postponed from July to September

The BSF has announced that the League All-Star National Championships, scheduled for July 7-8 at Loughborough, have been cancelled due to lack of entries. But the BSF is hoping to run the tournament alongside the Premier Nationals in Manchester on September 1-2.

The annual East Midlands Labor Day Tournament will run on the weekend of September 15-16 this year at Leicester University Sports Ground in Leicester. This tournament usually fills up quickly, so early booking is advised.

TourCats spread the slowpitch gospel in Cologne

Following the success of the last year's tour to the Netherlands, the TourCats, the touring arm of the Birmingham Bobcats Softball Club, recently embarked upon another European adventure, this time to Cologne in Germany for a slowpitch tournament on Saturday, May 26.
