Softball to feature at Sports & Music Festival

An annual Sports and Music Festival in Manchester, scheduled for the weekend of 16-18 May 2014 at Salford Sports Village, will feature co-ed slowpitch softball for the first time, and the tournament is expected to attract entries from around the UK and Europe.

Nottingham shades second Battle of the Shires

The second annual 'Battle of the Shires' took place at Western Park in Leicester on Saturday 5 October and looked set to be a great success until a heartbreaking injury to a key player from the Leicester Blue Sox. Nottinghamshire went on to take two of the three events to win the title.

Leeds Terriers win East Midlands Labor Day Tournament

The Leeds Terriers defeated the Nottingham Brewers by a single run in the final to win the Champions Cup at the 2013 East Midlands Labor Day Tournament, held at the University of Leicester Playing Fields in Oadby on 14-15 September.

Chalfont Softball Club to run Indoor Jingle Balls Tournament

Chalfont Softball Club is inviting entries to a brand new indoor competition, the Jingle Balls Tournament, to be played in the run-up to Christmas on Sunday 15 December in Rickmansworth.

Chalfont shortlisted for Club of the Year

Chalfont Softball Club has been shortlisted for the Bucks and Milton Keynes Club of the Year award. The awards night, organised by the Bucks and Milton Keynes County Sports Partnership, will take place on Friday 6 December at the Waterside Theatre in Aylesbury.

Windmill Classic Slowpitch Tournament in Holland next July

A major slowpitch tournament, the Windmill Classic, featuring men's, women's and co-ed competition, will be held in Almere, Holland on 25-27 July 2014, and teams from all over Europe are invited.

Bristol Phoenix win Autumn Cotswold Tournament

Twelve teams competed in good weather on Sunday 6 October in the Autumn Cotswold Tournament at Archway School in Stroud, with Phoenix from Bristol winning the Championship Trophy, Splitters winning the Plate Trophy and MK Diamonds 1 winning the Third Place Playoff award.

GB Management Committee holds weekend meetings

The GB Management Committee, a group that oversees and provides support for all Great Britain softball national teams, held a series of productive meetings over the weekend of 5-6 October in West London and Slough.

Great year at Maidenhead Softball Club

2013 has been a fantastic time for Maidenhead Softball Club, including achieving a Clubmark award and running a successful schools programme. The year was capped by the club running its first 'Hit and Run Tournament' on 29 September.
