Early season slowpitch tournament in Pardubice

An early-season co-ed slowpitch tournament, the Slava Hosana, will be held in Pardubice in the Czech Republic over the weekend of 19-20 April 2014, and British teams are invited.

BSF Nationals Working Group makes progress

The idea of a BSF Nationals Working Group was first mooted at the 2013 BSF AGM, and volunteers representing a cross-section of softball were invited to take part. The group finally met on Saturday 11 January 2014 in London, and began to set out a vision for softball's National Championships.

Slowpitch World Cup begins next Thursday

The 3rd ISF Slowpitch World Cup will begin on Thursday 23 January in Plant City, Florida, and the GB Slowpitch Team will spend the early part of the week getting acclimatised and getting ready.

Manchester Sports and Music Festival cancelled

The Manchester Sport and Music Festival, scheduled for 16-18 May in Salford with softball as one of the featured sports, has been cancelled due to the inability to find and confirm a suitable venue.

Monmouth School softball aims for the stars

It began three years ago with a small school softball club started by a physics teacher, Gareth Dunn, who had previously played softball in London. Now, the school team, the Monmouth Rockets, has just been promoted in the Bristol Softball League and has six players in GB Fastpitch team pools.

ESF Slowpitch Umpire Clinic planned for Britain

The European Softball Federation is planning a Slowpitch Umpire Clinic to be held in Britain from 7-11 May 2014. Umpires from all over Europe can attend, and the course will go ahead if a minimum of 10 candidates register.

GB Slowpitch selects World Cup squad

GB Slowpitch Team Head Coach Steve Patterson has announced the 18 players – nine women and nine men – who will travel to Plant City, Florida at the end of January to try to win the third ISF Slowpitch World Cup.

Slowpitch softball to be rolled out in Holland

It started earlier this century but will finally be rolled out fully in 2014. We're talking about slowpitch softball in the Netherlands, where fastpitch has been the only ball game in town. Now, however, the Dutch Federation Congress has decided to prioritize the development of slowpitch in Holland over the next few years.

Wide-ranging discussions at the League Heads Forum

The annual BSF Softball League Heads Forum convened on Saturday 16 November in Birmingham and discussed a wide range of topics relevant to slowpitch softball, including umpiring, safeguarding, registration and insurance, preferred suppliers, development and National Championships.
