    Fuzzy Ducks win again at BSF League Nationals

    A windblown BSF League National Championships tournament at Farnham Park on 10-11 August produced four winners, two very different but outstanding finals in the Comp division, and what is by now becoming an old refrain: another top trophy for the GLSML’s Fuzzy Ducks.

    Manchester Tournament survives the weather

    Following torrential rain the Sunday before the annual Manchester Tournament, scheduled for the weekend of 3-4 August, the River Mersey flooded the pitches at the usual venue, Parrs Wood School, and so an alternative had to be found.  Fortunately, we managed to book the fields at Manchester University’s sports ground in Wythenshawe at very short notice, and they were very accommodating.

    GB Slowpitch back on top of European softball

    The GB Co-ed Slowpitch Team regained their title as European Champions in style late this afternoon with a clinical and comprehensive 13-3 win over Germany in the 2019 European Slowpitch Championship final.

    Teams announced for NSL3 National Championship

    The British Softball Federation’s NSL3 National Championship, to be played on the weekend of 31 August-1 September in Manchester, will be contested by eight teams, with the top two teams in the table when the tournament is over promoted to NSL2 for the 2020 season.

    New Rec Tournament to be played in Oxford

    A new event on the BSF tournament calendar aimed at D-grade and lower C-grade teams, the Oxford Bat-itude Softball Tournament, will be played on Saturday 31 August in Oxford, with 16 places available.

    NSL 2 season ends with Blitz Bombers gaining promotion to NSL 1

    The final games of the season in National Softball League 2 were played on weekend of 20-21 July at the Diamond Series 3 tournament at Farnham Park, and the biggest winner was the Blitz Bombers, who topped the standings and will be promoted to NSL1 for next season.
