First National Women’s Try-a-Sport Day

June 21, 2012 is the first national "Women's Try-a-Sport Day". The aim is to get more women involved in sport in their local areas before the London Olympics, and the British Softball Federation would like softball leagues to get behind this initiative.

Birmingham Bobcats to run Women’s Softball 4 Beginners sessions

Ever fancied playing a new sport with friends or family? A six-week programme of Women's Softball 4 Beginners sessions catering for female participants will be run by the Birmingham Bobcats from Thursday 17 May. Any interested women aged 14 and older can join in the fun as a great way to try out a new sport and meet new people. The sessions are funded by Sportivate and are being run in partnership with BaseballSoftballUK.

Local clubs raise money for Birmingham Children’s Hospital

Six local Birmingham sports clubs braved a bit of rain and wind in the name of charity and softball on Saturday, April 28 to raise £860 for Birmingham Children's Hospital at the first annual Birmingham Charity Softball Derby.

Falcons ready to take flight in the Solent League

The Chichester Falcons Softball Club was formed in the summer of 2011, following the success of the local hospital's X-Ray department team in two tournaments. Now, after almost a year of recruitment, the team is ready to take flight in the Solent Softball League.

Manchester LGBT Softball Mini-League is now under way

An LGBT Slowpitch SoftballMini- League aimed at complete beginners in Manchester is now under way, with one evening gone and two more to come. The winning team will collect a £250 prize.

GLSML Development Nights to begin on 11 June

The Greater London Softball Mixed League will be starting its annual Monday night development sessions in Regents Park on 11 June. The sessions will run for 11 weeks and are aimed at slowpitch softball beginners, people who have had limited experience with the sport and any players who want to improve their skills.

“Spring Into Softball” Sportivate course to be hosted by Leeds Dynamite

Leeds Dynamite Softball Club will be running a six-week softball beginners' course for players under 19 years of age on Monday nights in Central Leeds, starting on February 20, funded by Sport England through its Sportivate programme.

New Glasgow team plans recruitment session

A new co-ed slowpitch team in Glasgow, to be known as the Honey Badgers, will be playing in the Central Scotland Softball League this summer and is currently recruiting for new players, with an open session scheduled for Thursday, February 16.

Birmingham Bobcats hold softball evening for local inner-city youth club

The Birmingham Bobcats Softball Club held a softball training evening for the Waterworks Safe Haven Youth Club at the end of September, in conjunction with Edgbaston Police and with assistance from BSUK.
