H2O wins top seeding for Premier Nationals

The 2013 National Softball League season wrapped up at the third Diamond Series tournament at Farnham Park on the weekend of 27-28 July, and the clear winner and #1 seed for the Premier Nationals will be H2O, who have yet to win their first national title.

Single-Sex Nationals Round-Up

The 2013 BSF Single-Sex National Championships were held over the weekend of 20-21 July alongside the official Opening Ceremony for the new Farnham Park baseball and softball facilities.

BSF looking for final Nationals entries

Places now open for BSF Co-ed Nationals

The BSF has announced that places in the Platinum, Gold, Silver and Bronze Co-ed Slowpitch National Championships on 10-11 August at Farnham Park are now open to all registered and affiliated teams. And places are still available for the Single-Sex Slowpitch Nationals on 20-21 July.

Deadline approaching to claim Nationals places

The deadline of 15 June for eligible teams to claim and pay for their place in the BSF's Platinum, Gold, Silver and Bronze Nationals is fast approaching, and a third of the available places have already been claimed.

BSF sends out Nationals invitations

BSF Tournaments Officer Liz Graham has sent initial application forms to BSF-affiliated leagues and their 2012 division winners for the 2013 Platinum, Gold, Silver and Bronze (PGSB) Co-ed National Championships, to be played on the weekend of 10-11 August at Farnham Park near Slough.

BSUK launches first National University Softball Championship.

BSUK will launch its first-ever National University Softball Championship in 2013. The tournament will be held on the wide open spaces at Birmingham City University Sports Ground on Sunday, March 24 and is open to students from all UK universities.

Ex-softballer receives CBE in New Year Honours List

Ian Livingstone, a long-time pitcher for the Raiders Men's Slowpitch Team and the 69ers (more recently Niners) co-ed team in the 1980s and 90s, has been advanced from an OBE to a CBE (Commander of the Order of the British Empire) in the New Year Honours List for services to the computer gaming industry.

New dates for League Heads Forum and AGM, but combined Co-ed Nationals is still in doubt

The British Softball Federation Executive has announced new dates for its League Heads Forum and AGM in early 2013. But the Executive is still unable to make a final decision on whether the 2013 Co-ed National Championships will be a combined tournament with all grades of play, including the Premier Nationals.

BSF to consult on Co-ed Nationals plan

The BSF is to consult with all teams that took part in Co-ed Slowpitch National Championships in 2012, and all slowpitch League Heads, to ask for comments on a plan to play all five Co-ed Nationals – including the Premier Nationals – on the same weekend at the same venue in 2013, with a maximum of eight places available for each grade of play.
