    Softball featured at Greater Manchester Sports Awards

    Softball and baseball both had a presence at the Greater Manchester Sports Awards that took place on Friday evening, November 9 at the Lancashire County Cricket Club at Old Trafford, with more than 500 people in attendance.  BSUK was one of the event sponsors, and while no awards went to either of our sports, they were prominent during the evening.

    BSF League Heads Forum to be held in January

    The BSF’s annual League Heads Forum, where slowpitch League Heads meet with members of the BSF Executive to discuss current softball issues and ideas, is normally held in November.  But the 2012 League Heads Forum has now been scheduled for Saturday, January 19 in Birmingham.

    Manchester celebrates 20th softball season

    More than 200 people turned out for a Black Tie Ball at the Manchester Hilton Deansgate Hotel on Saturday evening, 27 October to celebrate the 20th season of organised softball in Manchester.

    Leeds indoor season begins 5 November

    The Leeds Softball Association and the Dynamite Softball Club will be running an indoor softball season in Leeds, starting on Monday, 5 November, with two sessions every week.

    Softball League Reports: June 2012

    The BSF website is publishing monthly reports throughout the season from slowpitch softball leagues.  Click through for June reports from the Cardiff and Manchester Softball Leagues.  Other leagues that want to send monthly reports should send them by the 25th of the month to Bob Fromer and Trevor Clissold.

    H2O take an early lead in the National Softball League

    The first National Softball League competition of the season took place on the weekend of June 16-17 at the British Airways Tournament, played at the BA Concorde Club near Heathrow Airport, and the early leaders in the NSL table are H2O.

    Fastpitch League puts the spotlight on youth in 2012

    It’s the midway point of the season for the Great Britain Fastpitch League (GBFL), and this year has seen a number of changes compared to 2011, as League Organiser Stan Doney reports.

    Mid-week league softball returns to Birmingham

    A new Birmingham Softball League will be launched on Thursday June 21.  The league will be run for six weeks in an intra-club format, with support from BaseballSoftballUK, and the teams will be made up of new and existing members of the Birmingham Bobcats Softball Club.

    Field redevelopment scheduled as Brighton & Hove Softball League expands

    The Brighton and Hove Softball League started up at the beginning of May with an expansion from four teams to seven, a new development league running concurrently with the main league and a grant from BSUK to redevelop the storied Pavilion Field baseball and softball complex.
