Joint baseball/softball Olympic bid still a possibility

International Olympic Committee President Jacques Rogge, speaking at the 2012 SportAccord Convention in Quebec City, Canada on May 25, continued to hold out the possibility that a joint bid for Olympic reinstatement by baseball and softball could be considered by the IOC.

Register your league or independent team for the 2012 British softball season

The British Softball Federation is inviting all UK leagues and independent tournament teams to affiliate for the 2012 season. Affiliation to the BSF can only be completed online in 2012 and brings many benefits to registered organisations.

Twenty teams kick off the Single-Sex Slowpitch season

The BSUK Single-Sex Slowpitch Softball Series got off to a fine start on Sunday, May 20, when 20 teams from all over the country travelled to London to take part in the Spring Ball at Riverside Lands in Chiswick.

H2O, Manchester Thunder and Nino Privados score wins at Diamond 1

The first Diamond Series tournament of the year, on the weekend of May 12-13, enjoyed an unexpected two days of sunshine to get the major slowpitch tournament season underway. H2O won the A-grade competition, Manchester Thunder were B-grade winners and Nino Privados took C-grade honours.

ESF runs two slowpitch development clinics in Europe

The European Softball Federation got the 2012 slowpitch season on the Continent off to an early start in April with slowpitch development clinics in Linz, Austria and Dupnitsa, Bulgaria, organised by ESF Slowpitch Development Commissioner John Austin.

Thirteen men and eight women have been selected to the GB Slowpitch Development Team for 2012 by new Head Coach Steve Patterson and his staff following trials at Finsbury Park on the weekend of April 21-22.

Birmingham Bobcats to run Women’s Softball 4 Beginners sessions

Ever fancied playing a new sport with friends or family? A six-week programme of Women's Softball 4 Beginners sessions catering for female participants will be run by the Birmingham Bobcats from Thursday 17 May. Any interested women aged 14 and older can join in the fun as a great way to try out a new sport and meet new people. The sessions are funded by Sportivate and are being run in partnership with BaseballSoftballUK.
