This question is more relevant to softball, which has autonomous local leagues, than to baseball, which has a national structure divided into northern and southern divisions at various levels.
Perhaps you want to start up a new co-ed slowpitch softball team but there is no league nearby for your team to join. In that case, if your team is going to have some competition, you may have to go a bit further and start your own local league!
